Two witnesses with night-vision gear watch red lights over mountains and near the ground; one watch runs 25 minutes fast
2026 · FBI Headquarters, Washington, DC · Sighting · Primary document linked
Two FBI interview reports describe the same rainy night in 2026, when two men driving on a remote road for area reconnaissance saw dull red lights moving along a mountain ridgeline to the west; through night-vision devices they looked like orbs. One saw six to ten more lights appear overhead, 'sync up' with the first and travel east-southeast, each looking like three lights in a triangle moving together; one dropped quickly about 1,000 feet. Later, lights appeared to the east, one as low as about six feet off the ground, stopping a few hundred meters away, and a glow moved through a dry wash behind them. They saw no exhaust and heard nothing. Afterward one man's automatic analog watch, accurate earlier that evening and never off by more than 90 seconds in five years, was 25 minutes ahead of both phones, the vehicle clock and his companion's digital watch. The FBI also released digital renderings of what they saw.

Why it matters (2/5)
A two-witness account recorded by the FBI; no evaluation or wider attention.
Caveats
The two accounts give different times for the first lights (about 8 pm in one, about 10 pm in the other). A thermal-optics attempt failed, and no photographs or video are in the release. Place, date and names are redacted, so the map pin marks FBI headquarters.
