AARO describes 'Kona Blue,' a proposed Homeland Security UFO program that was not carried out
March 8, 2024 · Washington, DC (Department of Homeland Security) · Government report · Secondary sources only
AARO's historical report, released on 8 March 2024, examined 'Kona Blue,' an alleged Homeland Security effort to study and reverse-engineer recovered craft. According to press accounts, supporters proposed it after the Defense Intelligence Agency ended an earlier effort in 2012, on the premise that the government already held biological evidence of non-human beings. Homeland Security leaders rejected the proposal.
Why it matters (2/5)
Short-lived, rejected proposal; matters mostly for what it shows about retrieval claims.
Caveats
NewsNation reports that a DHS official approved the program. The Pentagon and DHS say it was never approved. AARO's own passage was not opened; this entry rests on press accounts, so the AARO report is listed only as context.
