Military infrared and video clips over Iraq and Syria are released as unresolved UAP reports

May 2022 – October 2024 · Iraq and Syria · Sighting · Primary document linked

In the first PURSUE release on 8 May 2026, the Department of War published clips recorded by U.S. Central Command sensors and sent to AARO as unresolved. They include a May 2022 clip over Iraq, a 14-second infrared and visual clip over Syria in July 2022 in which an object crosses the upper right of the frame, a December 2022 Iraq clip, and three October 2024 Syria clips. Mission reports describe them, calling one object a 'possible missile' with four 'possible birds' and another a 'probable SU-27/35.' A second batch around 22 May 2026 added more Middle East clips, including a 2021 Syria clip in which an object appears to accelerate away.

Why it matters (3/5)

Operational footage and mission reports that the government itself chose to publish, so it counts as an official release.

Caveats

The Pentagon says many of the materials lack a substantiated chain of custody, and AARO says it has no evidence that any object is extraterrestrial. Reviewers describe the clips as short, low-quality infrared video with little context, and note that the May 2022 clip leaked in 2023. Labels disagree in places: the second May 2022 clip is labeled Iraq but its report lists Syria. The war.gov pages and PDFs are linked from secondary pages and were not opened.
