June 25, 2021 · Washington, DC (ODNI) · Government report · Primary document linked
A short unclassified report covering 144 incidents from 2004 to 2021 said limited, inconsistent data prevented firm conclusions about the nature or intent of UAP, while flagging flight-safety and possible national-security concerns. A fuller classified version went to Congress.
Why it matters (5/5)
First public intelligence-community assessment of UAP, delivered to Congress.
Caveats
Preliminary and largely inconclusive by its own account. It reported no data indicating foreign collection programs or adversary breakthroughs, and did not claim any non-human origin.
